Lewis Hamilton snatched the top practice spot back from Mercedes teammate Nico Rosberg during FP2 ahead of this weekend’s Austrian Grand Prix. His lap time of 1:09.542 was more than three tenths quicker than his German teammate’s best effort.
Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso again registered the third fastest time of the session, ever so slightly ahead of the Williams pair of Valterri Bottas and Felipe Massa, who continue to show promising form.
Sebastian Vettel finished sixth fastest for Red Bull Racing, with Jenson Button ending the session in seventh place.
Daniel Ricciardo had a nasty slide at the penultimate corner on his way to eighth place. Kevin Magnussen and Jean-Eric Vergne rounded out the top 10.
