Finnish Formula 1 driver Valtteri Bottas says that the persistent rumours linking him to the Ferrari seat have been distracting.
Over the last several months the Williams F1 driver has been constantly mentioned as a possible replacement for fellow Finn Kimi Raikkonen. However, after Ferrari’s announcement that they have re-signed the 2007 champion Bottas has said that the rumour mill has strained his relationship with Williams.
“It doesn’t do any good for mine and the team’s relationship. It’s not fair for us, to have those kind of rumours. It’s also not fair for Kimi or Ferrari. Now it’s easier, everyone knows more or less what is happening,” Bottas told AUTOSPORT.
The driver confirmed that talks are currently underway with Williams who holds the option to extend the Finn’s contract for 2016.
