Mercedes lock out front row at Silverstone Qualifying

Lewis Hamilton

Lewis Hamilton stormed to pole position in Silverstone qualifying today a massive four tenths ahead of team mate Nico Rosberg for a Mercedes front row lock out.

Hamilton’s time, a 1.29.607 proved too fast for Rosberg, or the Red Bulls to contest. The Red Bull team mates locked out the second row, a mere 0.009 seconds apart.

Ferrari were in a very bad place today – Massa did not make it through to Q3 and Alonso struggled and managed to qualify in 10th place.

The McLarens faired no better – neither getting through to Q3 either.

Below are the results for today’s Silverstone Qualifying session.
