Dickie Stanford Steps Down From Team Manager Role at Williams

Dickie Stanford has stepped down from his role as Williams Team Manager.

Stanford, who started as a race mechanic for Nigel Mansell in 1985, climbed up the ranks in the Williams F1 team to end up as team manager. After 10 years at the Grove based team he has decided to step down.

Stanford, however, will not leave Williams. He will be seeking another role within the team.

“We are now talking to him behind the scenes to decide exactly what he wants to do and what we want to do. We are working on that. Once we have got an idea of what that will be, we will let everyone know,” said the Deputy Team Principal Claire Williams.

The former McLaren technical co-ordinator, Peter Vale will take up the role as Team Manager.
