Mercedes’ Nico Rosberg finished on top of the time sheets after the second practice session this afternoon for the Italian Grand Prix.
Rosberg finished the session with the fastest time of 1:26.225, his team mate Lewis Hamilton an electronics problem with his car, which meant that he was only able to get out on track with about 30mins left in the session. Nevertheless, Hamilton ended his session in P2 with a time of 1:26.286, just 0.061s slower than Rosberg.
The Ferrari pair of Kimi Raikkonen(1:26.331) and Fernando Alonso(1:26.565) finished the session in P3 and P4 respectively, much to the delight of the Tifosi. This seems like encouraging pace from Ferrari who were expecting to be off the pace here in Monza.
Valtteri Bottas in the Williams ended his session in P5 with McLaren’s Jenson Button, showing some encouraging pace, finishing in P6.
The top 12 drivers are covered in just a little over a second, with the two Force India’s in the pack.
