The Red Bull Racing Formula One Team announced on Thursday 1 December 2016 that the team will switch to Mobil fuel and lubricants for the 2017 season.
As part of the deal, the Mobil and Esso brand logos will feature on the cars, drivers overalls and helmets and on the factory in Milton Keynes.
Commenting on the new partnership Red Bull Racing Team Principal Christian Horner said: “Mobil 1 and Red Bull Racing are two global brands that share a passion for racing, performance and innovation.
“Mobil 1 has been an iconic brand in Formula One for more than 30 years and our new partnership provides us with a unique opportunity to tap into ExxonMobil’s world class expertise.
“In addition to welcoming ExxonMobil to the Red Bull Racing stable, I would like to extend my thanks and appreciation to the technical team at Total, who have made a valuable contribution to our success in Formula One during our partnership.”
Before Red Bull ExxonMobil have run their branding on the McLaren team for the past few years in Formula 1. Mobil leaving McLaren opens the door for BP to take the place of Mobil at the Woking based team.
