Official reports are in that Jules Bianchi is out of surgery and has been transferred to ICU after suffering severe head trauma in a crash at the Japanese Grand Prix.
Earlier today F1 governing body, the FIA, said that the Frenchman would be operated on before being moved to the intensive care unit of the Mie General Hospital in Japan.
Bianchi was severely injured after he hit a recovery vehicle – sent out to recover the Sauber of Adrian Sutil. The accident prompted a red flag which effectively ended the race at Suzuka after 44 of 53 laps.
Reports from French media sources had stated that Bianchi was breathing on his own after surgery but there seem to be conflicting reports on the situation and we will await official confirmation before updating on the matter.
