Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen will drop 5-places down the grid at the Monaco Grand prix after a gearbox change.
Raikkonen finished 9th fastest in Free Practice 3 almost a second down on team-mate Sebastian Vettel who topped the session with the fastest time of 1:14.650. The Finn will get a new gearbox which will drop him down 5-places.
“After the third free practice session today the gearbox of car number 07, driver Kimi Räikkönen, was replaced for a new one,” said the statement from the stewards.
According to the new rules a gearbox needs to be used for 6 events.
