Lewis Hamilton qualified in pole position for Sunday’s Brazilian grand prix.
The Mercedes driver locked out the 60th pole of his career and will start the race alongside his championship leading teammate Nico Rosberg.
Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen delivered an impressive lap to secure third however the Finnish driver called it merely an average performance. In fourth place was Red Bull’s Max Verstappen with Sebastian Vettel in fifth and Daniel Ricciardo in sixth.
Romain Grosjean delivered the stand-out performance in the quali session to put his Haas in seventh place overall. The Force India’s of Nico Hulkenberg and Sergio Perez were eighth and ninth while McLaren’s Fernando Alonso rounded out the top ten.
