Weather Report for the 2014 Formula 1 United States Grand Prix
October 30, 2014 Weather Forecast

The 17th round of the Formula 1 World Championship brings us to the United States for the United States Grand Prix in Austin Texas.

The relatively new Circuit of the Americas hosts F1 for the third time and has very quickly become a fan and driver favorite. The sweeping esses and the very long, triple apex right hander T16, T17 and T18 and the massive elevation change into T1 always makes for exciting viewing and presents a challenge for the drivers.

Pirelli have brought the white Medium and yellow soft compound tyre for the US GP. They feel that these two compounds will provide the lateral grip needed for the fast sweeping corners and the mechanical grip for the slow corners. They are also hoping that this tyre choice will inspire a two-stop race. The asphalt has most certainly been worn in over the years and with Pirelli revising their tyre choices this season, there’s a good chance that we may see a two stop race.

The weather outlook for this weekend looks very good. Although the northern hemisphere is heading into autumn, the temperatures will remain relatively warm throughout the weekend. The morning practice sessions on Friday will start of cool but the temperatures will increase rather quickly. Temperatures for the weekend will hover in the mid-to-low twenties with race day being a nice and toasty 24C.

Below is a snapshot of the weekends weather. Remember you can check on this page at anytime during the course of the weekend to get live, up to the minute weather updates.
