Marussia Mulls Over Decision to Race with Two Cars at Russian Grand Prix
October 9, 2014 Featured Stories

The Marussia Formula 1 team are yet to decide if they will run two cars at this weekends Russian Grand Prix.

Reserve driver Alexander Rossi was nominated by the team to race in place of Jules Bianchi who remains in a critical condition at the Mie General Hospital in Japan after his crash at the Japanese Grand Prix last weekend. The team is still unsure whether to run two cars or not and will only take a decision before the first practice session on Friday morning.

Under the regulations, teams have until 16:00 on the Thursday of a race weekend to nominate their driver entries for a Grand Prix. Teams are, however, contractually obligated to run two cars and it’s reported that Marussia bosses have been in close communication with Bernie Ecclestone to arrange to run the race with one car or possibly pulling out of the Grand Prix all together.
