The family of Jules Bianchi released a statement regarding his condition.

Bianchi suffered major head injuries after crashing out at the Japanese Grand Prix in October. He has been receiving treatment at the Mie General Hospital in Yokkaichi, Japan.

In the statement the family recognized the continued support for the young Frenchman and said that they owe it to the fans no matter how brief the update.

“His condition continues to be classified by the medical professionals here as critical but stable,” read the statement.

“Although we have no new information to give, we recognize that there are a large number of people all around the world who are supporting Jules and willing him on in his fight. We owe it to his many fans to acknowledge the continued outpouring of messages, and to provide some information, however brief it may be.”

“Jules does indeed continue to fight. Although there have been some reports suggestive of plans for Jules’ treatment, at this time his fight will continue here in Yokkaichi. We are taking things step-by-step”

The statement goes on to say that the doctors and medical professionals at the Mie General Hospital are in constant contact with neurosurgeons at the University La Sapienza in Rome and Professor Gerard Saillant, the President of the FIA Medical Commission.

Further updates regarding Bianchi’s condition will be released by the family who have thanked all his fans for patience and understanding during this difficult time.
