Mark Webber in the other RB9 finished the session in P2 with a 1:22.982. Lotus’ Kimi Raikkonen and Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso finished the session in P3 and P4 respectively, 0.3s off the pace of Vettel’s time.

There was a very brief point where McLaren’s Jenson Button was in P1, but his time of 1:23.370 earned him sixth fastest of the session. The good news is that they do seem quicker at the Hungaroring.
