Red Bull Racing and Force India have both been awarded fines for the unsafe release of their drivers during the German Grand Prix at the Nurburgring.

Force India have been handed a 5 000 Euro fine for the unsafe release of Paul Di Resta, who almost collided with an incoming Toro Rosso when leaving his pit box.

Red Bull Racing on the other hand have a more heavier fine of 30 000 Euros for the unsafe release of Mark Webber. When leaving his pit box, Webber’s rear right wheel came adrift and when careening down the pit lane, narrowly missing a few Lotus mechanics, but it eventually collided with an FOM cameraman. The cameraman was immediately attended to by the track medical staff and taken to a nearby hospital. The latest update from the FIA is that the cameraman is concious and in a stable condition with  few broken ribs, a fractured collar bone and a few bruises.

The Red Bull incident sparked another debate about pit lane safety, which no doubt will be looked into more closely after this incident.
