Chinese GP Practice 3 – Advantage Ferrari

Sebastian Vettel, Chinese GP FP3

Sebastian Vettel marginally edged out team mate Kimi Raikkonen in a Ferrari 1-2 at the final practice session ahead of the 2017 Chinese Grand Prix.

Under improved weather conditions, Vettel beat his team mate to the top spot by 0.053s with a 1:33.336 – the two finished a good few tenths clear of the Mercedes drivers. Bottas finished 0.371s behind Vettel, running without his T-wing after it broke off early on in the session.

Hamilton finished fourth after locking up into the hairpin on his fastest lap 0.543s off Vettel’s time.

Felipe Massa put in fifth place for Williams with the Red Bull duo of Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo taking sixth and seventh spots on the time sheets. Lance Stroll took eigth position with Renault’s Jolyon Palmer and Toro Rosso’s Carlos Sainz Jr rounding out the top 10.

Danill Kvyat was the only driver not to set his fastest time on the supersofts, and finished in 15th place, 2.468s off the pace.

We’re expecting the weather to hold off for qualifying, but rain could very well still come into play with the unpredictable conditions at the Shangai International Circuit. Who will come out on top? It most certainly is going to be an intriguing battle!
